Scarecrow on Pumpkin

I love  this Scarecrow on the Pumpkin.  It is a pattern from Tennessee Ridge Primitives.  I did him a little different than hers. This is all handmade from the pumpkin to the crows.  This is a decoration that can be used all through the fall right through Thanksgiving.  He stands 24 inches high by 15 inches wide.  The pumpkin  is made from muslin and is painted with a colorwash of orange  and my prim staining mixture.  It is stuffed real tight and His head is made from muslin like the pumpkin on the bottom but not color washed, just stained and his face is hand stitched on. The scarecrow sits on the top and is lightly stuffed and is attached to  a cross to hold him up, just as you would hang a scarecrow outside.  His shirt is out of orange homespun with a burlap patch and has some rafia coming out for his hands. There is rafia and moss  and pip berries coming out around the bottom.  His hat is made from burlap that has been grungied to look weathered.  I have a crow sitting on his hat and one sitting on the pumpkin.  He also has one sunflower with homespun leaves right in the front.   He is  really cute.
